The year 2020 will see two new exhibits. Our first new exhibit of the year will focus on the Battle of Glorieta Pass using an interactive touchscreen display. Our second new display will showcase artworks created by, about, and for veterans. Stay tuned for updates!
ART OF WAR
COMING FALL 2021!!
Art of War will showcase revolving artworks from veteran and non-veteran artists that showcase military experiences, history, and life - both as abstract and realistic interpretations. Included in these works will be trench art, sculptures, and more.
THE CIVIL WAR & GLORIETA PASS
COMING IN JANUARY 2021!!
Track the stages and journey of the Battle of Glorieta Pass through an interactive touch-screen display. Learn the key players, events, and locations leading up to, and involved with, the battle. Additional Civil War artifacts and works will be displayed in tandem.
This outdoor exhibit commemorates the 100th anniversary of the end of the war through informational panels and an interactive bunker similar to the one that the New Mexico National Guard’s A Battery - in Roswell - may have used. The display includes a replica Royal Aircraft Factory S.E.5 biplane, a surfaced German UB6 Submarine, and a replica of the American WWI Meuse-Argonne Cemetery in France.
The New Mexico Military Museum has an outdoor transport yard located near the back of the museum. This display has items used by the New Mexico National Guard during the last 100 years.
Our New Mexico Military Museum’s Meditation Garden is dedicated to all of the units from New Mexico that have been mobilized in Federal Service of our Nation.
